Oh, how I want to be motivated to write, to do something creative, to create art. Learn now, how you can do just that.

The mere thought that a thousand people will be cheering for you someday when you have published a book is enough motivation for you to write.

More motivation you say!

Then I ask you a simple question. Why do you want to write so badly when you don’t feel like doing it? Laziness! Yes! NO! …maybe! The fact that you want to write, in itself motivates you to write something.

What if I don’t want to write at all? Then sorry my dear! One, you better start writing everyday or forget it and do something you really like to do. Writing can be for fun but sometimes when time passes by and at times, fun completely seeps out of it and you start to drift away from it.

What will motivate me when such a dire crisis strikes? Your own effort to write everyday. If you continue to write, nonsense even, when you are not at all interested in doing it. It sticks with you and you can’t stop doing it and it becomes a habit. All in all there are no miraculous ways or secret formulas to get motivated. It is always you who holds the key, to make a change and turn your life around to a path of endless writing adventure.

Motivation is a complex psychological function and it is relatively difficult to encapsulate in just one construct.

I agree with you on that. Staying motivated is tough. So it’s better we do the work everyday, motivated or not.
